PDP begins move to recapture Ondo

Yinka Oladoyinbo, Akure - 03.11.2009

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State has vowed to reclaim the state in the next election, as it had commenced aggressive mobilisation and membership drive in the state.

The party, which pleaded with the Ondo State indigenes in Lagos State to support the party, also advised students and youths of the state against thuggery.

The chairman of the progressive forum of the party, Mr. Olaniyi Ogungbuyi, said the idea and the mission of the PDP was in the interest and total development of the state.

He said the leaders of the progressive forum in Ondo State had met with the indigenes of the state in Lagos State towards mobilising people of the state in other parts of the country.

According to him, the party was going through internal re-organisation that would reposition it towards the 2011 and the 2013 elections.

The party added that it was ready to build on the achievements of the immediate past governor of the state, Dr. Olusegun Agagu.

However, Olaniyi advised the Congress of Akoko Students Association (CASA) and other students in the state against being dragged into the murky water of politics.

He said the students should not allow themselves to be used as political thugs and miscreants, adding that the future of the state lies in their hands.
