NFF canvasses support for Eaglets

03.11.2009

THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has appealed to Nigerians resident in Abuja and environs to storm the Abuja National Stadium, on Thursday evening to support the Golden Eaglets as they confront New Zealand in a Round of 16 match.

If the Eaglets overcome New Zealand, they will be playing the winner of the match between Mexico and Korea Republic in the quarter-finals. That match will take place at the UJ Esuene Stadium, Calabar, on the night of Monday, November 8.

Meanwhile, the Eaglets will tomorrow be presented with cash prize of $6,250 by Cadbury Nigeria PLC, makers of Tom Tom, for their shots at goal during the first round of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup. The presentation will take place at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel by noon.

A breakdown from the sponsors show that the Eaglets attempted a total of 25 shots at goal in the first round, with 15 against Germany, six against Honduras and four against Argentina in their last game of the first round.
