Dideolu Hospital Offers Free Medical, Surgical Services

By Sade Oguntola - 11.10.2008

THE Ogun State government, in conjunction with a team of American doctors, is to provide free medical and surgical services at the Dideolu Specialist Hospital, Ikenne/Odogbolu Road, Ikenne Remo, starting from Monday, October 13.

The free surgical exercise which will end on Friday, October 17, is to benefit people with urological, kidney, bone, ear, nose and throat problems and conditions affecting women’s reproductive organs such as incontinence.

The surgery will also help treat children with rickets, hernia, breast lumps, goiter, tooth problems and many other health conditions.

The exercise, which is in line with the vision of the sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, is based on the premise that only a healthy group of individuals can move the nation forward.

According to a release from Dideolu Specialist Hospital, Ikenne Remo, screening of those to participate in the surgical exercise would start from today running till Monday when the surgical exercise would commence.

The exercise is the fruit of Governor Gbenga Daniel’s visit to Atlanta in July 2005. In an effort to bring adequate and immediate free medical services to address the needs of Ogun State citizens, the programme was put together within two months.

The medical team members are drawn from the states of Texas, Tennessee, Maryland and Georgia and include Dr. Steven Glorsky, and Dr. Muyiwa Adedokun.
