THE interim management teams for local governments appointed by the Kogi State governor, Captain Idris Wada, have started resuming duties despite revolt from the state legislature.

Among those who resumed office was the Liaison officer for Yagba East Local government, Comrade Shola Adebola, who went  to access the state of affair of the local government at the weekend.

The liaison officer, who reiterated the term of reference of his appointment, said his duties were to oversee the administration of the local government towards a peaceful transition and conducive environment for the conduct of local government election

Adebola said the peaceful transition of the administration of the local government to a democratically elected council chairmen which was their main objective required the full support of the local government workers.

Adebola also sought the cooperation of the traditional rulers and the political class towards the peaceful conduct of local government election in the coming months.

It will be recalled that the appointment of the liaison officers by the state governor  recently, was  condemned by the members of the state House of Assembly, who asked the governor to reverse the appointment and directed that the liaison officers should not assume office.
