Lagos State government said it has committed N2.5 billion to Aboru channelisation project in Agbado-Oke-Odo in Alimosho Local Government Area of the state.

Also, the government has commenced the  construction of Meiran –Ajasa road which is expected to gulp N1.7 billion.

Disclosing this at the distribution of 150 free eye glasses and 100 crash helmets to motorcycle operators, a member of the House of Assembly, Honourable Bisi Yusuff, said that ”It is only an unserious government that would not provide basic infrastructure such as good roads, water and electrification to its people’.

The lawmaker noted that immediately the government completed the channelisation at Aboru, it  would commence construction of the road which he said would reduce the suffering of the people living in the area.

“In the past, whenever it rained, you would see between 4 to 5 dead bodies due to flooding in Aboru, but now we are not witnessing such disaster again in the area.”

Hon Yusuff  therefore, urged the residents of Aboru to exercise patience with the  state government, saying that it was determined to creat the enabling environment for its citizenry.

Responding, spokesman, Joint Community Development Association, Mr Sunday Adelaja, expressed  appreciation to the lawmaker. He said Aboru community which consists of 30 CDAs, had written several letters to the Agbado-Oke council chairman to no avail.
