NON Indigenes living in Kogi State have been assured of adequate protection and equal appointment opportunities.

The state governor, Captain Idris Wada, stated this on Wednesday when he received in audience the representatives of Yoruba Community living in Lokoja.

The governor who was represented by his deputy, Mr Yomi Awoniyi, commended the people for living in peace with their host communities, saying despite the high concentration of different ethnic groups living in Lokoja, the people have co-existed peacefully.

While promising to constitute his cabinet soon, he assured that the expected appointments will accommodate all diverse interests who resided in the state.

On contract awards, the governor stated that it will no longer be by political consideration but through competitive bidding,promising to meet the wishes and aspirations of the people.

In his speech, the Oba Yoruba and leader of the delegation, Alhaji Audu Bello, said having lived peacefully with the people since 1896, he solicited government’s support in terms of appointments and other benefits.
