The People of Kogi State have been living in  fear over the rumour of more bomb explosions, most especially within the state capital, Lokoja.

Raising the fear in the people was an earlier prediction reportedly  made by a cleric that Lokoja would soon come under severe attacks by terrorists being smoked out of other northern states, if conscious efforts were not made to stem the tide.

 From the beginning of the week, some residents of Lokoja have been relocating to other areas as part of precaution for their safety, drawing lessons from experiences in Plateau, Kano, Maiduguri, Yobe and other northern states, where activities of terrorists have been more prevalent.

Gamji reliably gathered that when the bomb blast occurred in Okene last Sunday, those who witnessed the incident felt that the prediction earlier made by the pastor of a popular church had started coming to pass although no life was lost in the car bomb blast.

The state Police Commissioner, Mr Muhammed Katsina  has assured the people of the state of safety, stating that the Command in Kogi was combat ready for any security challenges.
