Itaji-Ekiti pleads for new transformer

The people of Itaji-Ekiti in Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State have pleaded with the state electricity board to replace the damaged electricity transformer in the community.

Members of the community said the area had been in darkness for four months following a thunderstorm which damaged the facility during a rainfall.

Spokesperson of the community, Pastor Isaac Toyebi, who disclosed this to newsmen in Ekiti recently, said the development had crippled economic and sundry activities in the community.

Toyebi called on the state electricity board to come to the aid of the community by replacing the damaged facility, saying this would rekindle economic activities in the community and also make the people have a sense of belonging.

According to him, the 22-year-old transformer would best be replaced following its age and urged the electricity board to look into the development.
