Share

Following the induction of the special marshals unit of the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan, road users have being urged to be more road safety conscious.

Speaking on the occasion, Professor Temitope Alonge, the Chief Medical Director, UCH stated it was a common thing to see people drive in the wrong direction without giving any second thought to the possible dangers and problems this could cause for other road users.

Professor Alonge, who was represented on the occasion by Mrs Funke Adepoju, the hospital’s Director of  Administration, stated that the special marshal unit in the hospital was long overdue, charging them to help uphold all road safety rules.

According to him, “this group will go a long way to control traffic and accidents at the major roads into the hospital.”

Oyo State Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), G.O Ogagaoghene, speaking through Mr Femi Adekanye, Head of Operations for the sector urged the new marshals to be prepared for challenges of work ahead and maintain integrity while ensuring they do nothing that would endanger their lives while trying to save others.
