Taraba re-elects speaker as 7th Assembly takes off

THE Taraba State House of Assembly has inaugurated its seventh legislative session.
Performing the ceremony at the House complex, the speaker, Honour-able Istifanus Haruna Gbana, thanked his colleagues for re-electing him to pilot the affairs of the House.
He promised not to disappoint them, adding that he would strive to operate an open door policy in running the affairs of the legislature.
The speaker said he would welcome constructive criticisms, as well as accommodate all shades of opinions.
Honourable Gbana said emphasis would be laid on unity of purpose and collective decision making, so as to move Taraba State forward.
He commended the current administration under the leadership of Governor Danbaba Sun-tai, adding that the House would discipline erring members who were absent during plenary sessions and other primary assignments.
