CAC president’s case adjourned till March 13, 14, 15
THE case of forgery preferred against the immediate past president of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC), Pastor Elijah Olusheye and three others by the Federal Government has been adjourned till March 13 to 15 for hearing.
The adjournment was at the instance of Mr Salawu Kareem, the prosecutor who wanted to produce his witnesses in court.
Counsel for the accused, Mr Oluwagbenga Olatunji, the prosecutor and Justice Jonathan Shakarho agreed dates.
Although the first prosecuting witness, Pastor Ayantoye, was in court, he did not testify. Justice Shakarho, however, urged him to make himself available between March 13 an 15.
Meanwhile, the charge, with number FHC/IB/9C/2011, has been amended. The counts against the accused, Pastor Olusheye, Elder Johnson Ayo Olabisi, Pastor Gideon Okegwemeh and Mr Abdul-Hakeem Muhammed have been increased to five.
Counts one to three stated that the first three accused, on September 4, 1991 forged minutes of a meeting purportedly signed by Pastor J.B. Orogun (deceased) and Pastor Taiwo Odesola (at large); on September 27, 1991, forged minutes of a meeting purportedly convened by the Christ Apostolic Church.
