LEADER of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) and former governor of Oyo State, Alhaji Lam Adesina, on Wednesday declared null and void the agreement between the state governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi and the leader of the Accord Party, Senator Rashidi Ladoja.

The ACN leader, while addressing leaders of the party in the state, during an interaction session with the governor in Ibadan, said that the agreement should be terminated  immediately.

According to him, the agreement was between Governor Ajimobi and the Accord Party in the state and did not have the consent of the party.

“Mr Governor, the party would like you to terminate all agreements and further agreement between you and former Governor Ladoja,” he said.

The former governor called on the Accord Party members benefiting from the agreement to defect to the ACN or resign their appointments.

The ACN leader noted that there were people who suffered with the party “before and during the last general election” who had not been compensated.

“These people must be compensated in this second year in office,” he said.

The former governor also advised Governor Ajimobi against nursing acrimony against him and those who contested the party’s governorship primary with him.

He urged him to call on them in the interest of the party.

He also warned against taking any action without consulting the party, saying that the party was supreme.

Adesina, who noted that the present administration in the state had  given the people peace in the last one year, said that performances of the government would win future elections for the party in the state.

He commended the speaker of the House of Assembly for maintaining peace among the lawmakers despite the fact that the ACN is not in the majority.

Though journalists, aides of the governor and security personnel were ordered to leave the venue when the governor wanted to give his response, sources, however, disclosed that Governor Ajimobi explained to the gathering why he would continue to court Ladoja and Accord Party.

According to the sources, he was said to have told Alhaji Adesina that the cost of maintaining the accord between his government and Senator Ladoja was minimal compared with the gains the government had recorded by associating with Ladoja. He said breaking the accord at this time would only disrupt the peace being enjoyed by his government.

Pa Lam sees the influence of Ladoja over-shadowing him in Ibadan and Oyo-state politics. Despite having his son as a commissioner in the Ajimobi cabinet whatelse does this man wants? He still can't swallow the fact that people of Oyo-state sent him packing for Ladoja, and his political grip (if any)in Ibadan is becoming oblivion. Papa it high time to see the politics of inclusiveness not exclusiveness has practiced in your generation. Remember, Oyo state politics is not about party rather it is about the candidate.

What idea does this man have? Throughout the time he was governor of the state it was all noise and no action:the roads were left in terrible condition. The most unfortunate thing is that most of these former AD governors think they were rigged out of office. The truth is,given their performance,people wouldn't have given them any support or protest any rigging,if it was lopsided (because all parties do rig,only some 'outrig' the others)

Oyo state stands to gain a lot if the pally between ACN and Accord party continues. Gov Ajimobi should keep the pally fresh and even encourage such with other opposition parties in the state. To Habu Fari on his comments here: This individual has not learnt enough lessons on how to address ELDERS!!! What he did to former Gov Prince Oyinlola earned him a sack from the Wadata House, he should please learn.

In this instance, I urge Ajimobi to remember the Yoruba proverb(If it confronts you from the front, shhot it, if it confronts from the back, shoot it, when you are alone, do personal meditation). What will benefit the people and get your name written in gold is what you should do.Ladoja is undecided on his political direction and he has his personal reasons for that position. But to renege on your agreements with him is not only dishonourable and unfair, it is also dangerous for your public image and support. You will leave the state house one day and you will still have to relate with Ladoja beyond politics.Lam has no political weight. In 2007 you won the gubernatorial election (though you were rigged out) for APP because Ladoja withdrew his support for PDP though quite late. What did Lam's political featherweight achieve for Adedoja.The same happened in 2011.Ladoja has political weight that you dare not ignore in Oyo state. He is a grassroot potician.

I think that Adesina, being an elderly and experienced politician should have weigthed the two sides of the coin before given his advise which I considered out of place at this time.Thre is absolute need to conpensate older memebers of the party thatstruggled with the governor before he became the governor but at the same time, It is important, perhaps more important to keep the house in order before you stat talking of inviting visitors, otherwise the danger could be too much to bear or manage. The yesteryear party PDP are seriously watching and would not mind taking any advantage available to score political advantage over ACNwho are still settling down.Suru lere.
