THE Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha, has reshuffled his cabinet, dropping six commissioners in the state executive council.

The six commissioners were Ejike Uche (public utilities and rural development); Ogueri Enwerem (commerce and industry); Obinna Duruji (information and strategy) and Alex Ogwazuo (culture and tourism).

Others were Mrs Chioma Ogueke (housing and urban development) and Mrs Ann Dozie (women affairs and social development.

The chief of staff, who addressed newsmen after the weekly state executive council meeting, disclosed further that new commissioners-designate had been appointed by the governor and were waiting for the screening and approval of the state House of Assembly.

He said those nominated were Uche Mbanaso; Chinedu Offor; Nnanna Ugochi Okoro; Chima Iwuchukwu; Emma Ekweremba and Charles Onuoha.

The governor, according to the chief of staff, also effected changes in his special advisers and senior special advisers, adding that the list would be made public soon.

The Omo State Music Chairs

Dear Gov Okorocha of Imo State, the music chair dance has to continue. All sentiments with paddy and party politics aside. Let your performance measuring instruments be domesticated so that office holders know the expectations of the government (remember the govt. is not the person of the governor but the full compliment of the incumbent government, the whole pepoeple of Imo State - aborigenes, home and abroad, diaspora, the triumphants including De Sam Mbakwe and our ancestors) and the people. Have a reliable performance assessment instrument or checklist for a monthly and qurterly score card for each appointee and key official of the state. Moderate and use the score cards which are made public for your music chair. We are still dancing. Let the music continue.
