Balarabe Musa, Nwabueze, Falana, others meet on security

Disturbed by the spate of insecurity in the country, the likes of Professor Ben Nwabueze, Femi Falana and Alhaji Balarabe Musa, are scheduled to meet in Lagos on Tuesday, June 26 and Thursday, June 28, at the Sheraton Hotels and Towers, Ikeja, Lagos, to proffer a lasting solution to the spate of killings in the northern part of the country.

Others expected in the meeting include Mallam Adamu Ciroma, Alhaji Yusuf Sule, Chief Olu Falae, Chief Audu Ogbeh, Dr Tunji Braithwaite,Chief Chukwuemka Ezeife Alabo and Graham Douglas.

Also expected are Chief John Nwodo, Chief Solomon Lar; Professor Pat Utomi, Mr Olisa Agbakoba, Comrade Abduwaheed Omar, Comrade Peter Esele, Mallam Shehu Sanni, Mallam Bukar Zarma, Mrs Ganiat Fawehinmi, Alhaji Shettima Yerima, Mallam Naseer Kura, Mr Abubaarkar G. Umar, Mallam Bala Zaka, Mr Bitrus Gwadah, among others.”

Condemning the spate of bombings in the country, the National Summit Group (NSG) said the meeting became imperative for the members of the steering committee from the six geopolitical zones in the country, noting its effect on the economic and political situation in the country.

The NSG had, this year in Lagos, called for a national dialogue, describing it as panacea for the political crisis in the country.

Also, the spokesperson for the group, Mr Olawale Okunnyi, said all members of the steering committee had been notified of the meeting, disclosing that the group had met with members of the Arewa Consultative Forum.
