CHAIRMAN, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, Enyinnaya Abaribe, on Tuesday,  denied that the Senate has received the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), saying the Senate has been expecting it since June.

He told newsmen at the end of the plenary session that the Senate was yet to receive the PIB, despite promises from President Goodluck Jonathan.

According to him, “up till this moment, we still have not received the bill and, of course, any time the bill comes, we will treat the bill as due. Whatever version that comes from the President is the version that is the proper PIB.”

Meanwhile, the Senate  has administered oath of office on Senators Margery Okadigbo and Solomon Ewuga.

Ewuga, candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Nasarawa North, replaced Senator Musa Nagogo, who was earlier issued certificate of return by the Independent National Electoral Commi-ssion (INEC).

Senator Okadigbo, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Anambra North, was sworn in to occupy the vacant seat of the senatorial district.

Her swearing-in followed the Supreme Court ruling, which declared her as the authentic candidate of the PDP in the April 2011 general election in the state.
