I Am Gay, Please Help

Share

I have been trying to surpress my homosexual feelings for the past five years.

However, I have now reached the stage where I find it difficult to control myself.

Unfortunately, Nigeria does not seem to be ready to accept homosexuals in the society and I am terrified of what my parents, brothers and sisters will do if they realise my homosexual status.

I am confused and sad. Please help me.

I must commend your candour and courage in expressing your true feelings. It is true that in many African countries, homosexuals are still unwelcome. However, it is very difficult to discountenance your feelings which as you said you have been trying to suppress for the past five years.
The fact that you are still struggling with this feeling shows that you are not really happy with the way you have found yourself.
My advice in this case is to seek help from any clinical psychologist in the nearest Specialist or Teaching Hospital nearest to you.
In addition, prayers in your faith can also assist you in finding a solution to this situation, which is fast becoming popular in our country.
