Cannibal Ex-soldier Nabbed For Killing 21-year-old Student •Police Corporal Rapes Colleague’s 7-yr-old-Daughter
A dismissed soldier, who had previously killed his wife, his two kids and a police woman sergeant and fond of eating his victims’ flesh, has been arrested by Kogi State Police Command for killing a 22-year- old lady.
The Command also recovered N4.091million from suspected armed robbers that raided banks in Ankpa.
Parading the suspects before newsmen on Friday at the State Police Headquarter, the Commissioner of Police, Mr. Muhammed Kasina, said that Mr. Jimoh Obabu Salau allegedly killed Miss Idowu Aliyu, a student of School of Technology, Zamfara State, who hailed from Adogo in Ajaokuta Local Government Council Area of Kogi State.
According to him, the suspect pretended to be a commercial motorcycle operator as he picked the lady, and on their way, he branched into the bush, strangulated the lady and then killed her with an iron rod.
He mentioned that the suspect was arrested on the spot when he was about to decapitate the body.
The Commissioner disclosed further that the suspect in 2003 killed his wife, his two kids and a police woman sergeant and then ate their flesh and later sold the remaining parts to buyers.
He noted that he was prosecuted and sentenced to death in Kaduna and later released, allegedly through the help of his wealthy client.
Also paraded were a family syndicate armed robbers, who invaded two banks in Ankpa where several lives were lost during a robbery incident.
According to him, the syndicate includes one Innocent Onyeonura and Joy Onyeonura and a Pastor Karachi Ekwenye, in whose account N300,000 of the looted money was traced, noting that Mr. Christian Onyeonura and Olachi Onyeonura, a lady, were now at large.
He said a total sum of N4.091million was recovered from them. Also recovered from them are a Toyota Hilux Jeep with registration number 43 W0026 and another Toyota Previa Bus with registration number TH 289 KJA.
Meanwhile, A police officer residing in Fagoji area on Emir's palace road in Dutse, Jigawa State had been arrested and detained at Dutse divisional police station on accusation of raping his neighbour's seven-year-old daughter in Dutse.
Report from the area indicated that the father of the victim reported the matter at the police station on Thursday evening after his wife informed him about what happend to their little daughter.
Speaking to journalists the father of the young girl who is also a security personnel said "after I closed from my office, immediately I got home my wife told me that corporal Shaaibu, my immediate neighbour raped my daughter.
"She showed me her clothes with stains, I did not waste time, I rushed to the police division and reported the matter and we checked his house and found the house locked and he was nowhere to be found."
He added: “we took her to hospital and the police took her clothes with them. We are now waiting for the hospital report," the father disclosed.
Also speaking, the mother of the victim who didn't want her name in print said "I was at home at around 5 pm, she (the victim) came and her eyes were red, full of tears, seriously demoralised, I asked her what happened? She refuse to talk, I saw plenty of chewing gums on her hand, I asked who gave her and she said ‘Baban Adamu’. I said ‘it is not possible for Baban Adamu to give you all these.’ She continued crying and said ‘if I told you, you will beat me.” I told her that I will not, then she opened up."
When contacted, the state Police Commissioner, Mr. Kayode Theophilus said "I'm not aware of the matter, I have not received the report yet, but I'm sure the Dutse division will investigate the case and take appropriate action", he added that "when the matter is investigated and he is found guilty, we will dismiss and prosecute him".
