Dear Yemisi,
I am an undergraduate. I had a boyfriend for a year and one month and I broke up with him because I felt he wasn’t for me.
Since then, he has been begging me to come back. His friends called to tell me that he is miserable. My relationship with him changed him in several ways and I don’t want him to change negatively.
He said he doesn’t want me as a friend.
Please, help me.
Anonymous.
Dear Anonymous Lady,
You don’t have to act on impulse and at the same time, you don’t have to be sentimental about the issue of maintaining a relationship with a man your heart is not with. The choice of whether to have him back depends solely on you. You are privy to what made you to think that he wasn’t meant for you and I wouldn’t want you to fall sheepishly for anything you are incapable of sustaining which you may regret later. Please, weigh your options and see if you could open up to some of his responsible and reasonable friends, who have been pleading on his behalf. You can still work on him positively, even if you were no longer dating by constantly reminding him not to go back to his ‘vomit’ and he would be grateful to you for impacting his life positively.
