Please, I need your advice as a matter of urgency.

I met a lady during my youth service programme and we started dating. This affair eventually led to the delivery of a baby boy.

Now my mind is not at peace with her and appears I have no love and affection for her and I am considering quiting the relationship. What baffles me most is that she is not working and whenever I asked her what she wanted to do, she would not give me any answer; but I love my son.

Your mind was at peace when you were getting your thirst quenched, but it is now that responsibility has been added, that your heart is no longer with her.

You don’t have to pretend that you have affection for the lady and this you need to tell her without pretence. Afterall, you did not have the intention of marrying each other before pregnancy came. As long as you have not made any commitment to become one, I will advise you let her know that you will take responsibility for your son.

The lady is not even helping matters as she has remained incommunicado on her plans. I appreciate your gesture so far on the steps you’ve taken to equip her. If you have told me the truth, she appears unserious with her future.

And if you know you cannot stay with her for the rest of your life, let her know on time that your plans are not to make her a wife, so that she will know that she is yet to get to her bus stop.

But you must ensure that you take full responsibility for the up-keep of your son and inform ahead whoever the lucky lady is, that you already have a love child.
