THE family and friends of late singer, Chief (Mrs) Christy Essien Igbokwe, are back together again, as they celebrate the first remembrance anniversary of the late philanthropist who passed away exactly a year ago, on June 30, 2011.

The ‘Lady of Songs,’ who entertained Africa with her music in a career that spanned three decades, will be celebrated tomorrow, Sunday July 1, 2012 in a memorial service at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.

The family had earlier sent out letters to close relations, friends, fans and colleagues of the late singer to intimate them on the memorial service in expectation of a large turnout.

The late enigma started singing at age seven, winning numerous local and international awards for her music with hit albums like ‘Time Waits for No One,’ ‘Give me a chance,’ ‘It is time,’ among many others.

The diva, who died at the age of 52, left behind her husband, Chief Edwin Igbokwe, and four sons.
