THE Federal Government, on Friday, admitted that the country was gradually descending into anarchy but vowed to arrest the slide.

The Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, Mohammed Bello Adoke, SAN made this known at the valedictory session held at the Supreme Court yesterday for retiring Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Dahiru Musdpaher.

According to him, "Government is equally concerned about the spate of civil disturbances across the country.

“The recent Boko Haram and Jos crises are unfortunate examples that have evoked a lot of emotions and public condemnation both in Nigeria and from the international community.

"Government is working hard to stem the tide of this gradual decent into anarchy by diligently prosecuting all those indicted for civil disturbances to serve as deterrence.”

He also assured on the prosecution of those indicted in the subsidy probe.

“May I also use this auspicious occasion to reiterate government’s commitment to the war against corruption and our collective determination to prosecute the war within the confines of the rule of law. To this end, government has concluded arrangement to commence the prosecution of those recently indicted in the fuel subsidy probe report and the charges arising from the investigation conducted by relevant law enforcement agencies will be filled very soon,” he said.

Speaking at the occasion, the President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), Chief Joseph Daudu, SAN said that Nigerians had lost faith in the ability of government to protect them from premeditated killings.

The Jonathan led PDP government is a colossal failure and the worst administration in the annals of democracy. The Nigerian citizens should find a lasting solution to the manmade calamity imposed on Nigerians by the PDP government. We are fed up with massive insecurity of Nigerian citizens at home, corruptions at all levels of our society, poor federal roads, insecurity of our nation from the treasury looters, Boko Haram and the armed robbers operating in broad daylight, and president and his political cronies looting our treasury. Nigeria must do something fast since the military are willing to sleep in the barrack while these politicians are wrecking our nation. Nigerians from all facets of human endeavor should organize and take back Nigeria from this barbaric and incompetent administration.
