THE Minister of Youth Development, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir, has disagreed with the House of Representatives  resolution ordering the management of the National Youths Service Corp (NYSC) not to post prospective youth corps members to any of the  crisis- prone states.

The House of Representatives had last week resolved that the management of NYSC should not  post any prospective corps members to any crisis-ridden state.

The  Minister told newsmen in Abuja that  the resolution passed by the House  of Representatives  was against the law establishing the NYSC scheme and negates the main objective of national unity and sacrifice the scheme was built around.

According to him, “my position is that  NYSC  should  continue posting youth corps members to all the states in the country including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, but for now, excluding only Borno and Yobe States.”

He disclosed that constitutional amendment would have to be made by the lawmakers on laws establishing the NYSC scheme as contained in the Nigerian constitution as regards  the  mandatory deployment of corps members to all the states of the federation, for national integration and unity, if such resolution is to be implemented.

He stated that  inspite of the security challenges, all Nigerians, including NYSC  members, should demonstrate their national patriotism  and be ready to serve anywhere in the country.

We thank God that the Minister of Youth Development, Alhaji Inuwa Abdulkadir is not the President and Commander of Nigeria Armforces. Otherwise he could have spoil this country with his parochial and derogatory decision on burning issues of national significant. He should by this open statement be judge, I will personally advice him to resign now. May be he is one of the sponsorship of BOKO HARAM. Please,ask him whether he can allow his son or daughter to serve in BOKO HARAM states for them to be kill.

What nonesense! Let the minister send his own children to serve at crisis-prone states. If they come back alive then the rest of us would join. Otherwise, we'll not heed the call of the minister. We can't afford to be slaughtered like rams by callous and disgruntled individuals who have no respect for the human life.

What nonsense is the minister of Youth Development saying; by the way the minister can overrule the house of representative in the Nigerian Democracy? The house is the custodial of laws in a true democracy. The house should repremand the minister for trying to make law if truly Nigeria is a democracy.

its amazing that ppl like you lead the youth. little wonder why there is so much agitation amongst the nigerian youth. Even if ppl had to loose their lives in ignorance, just to biuld our so called nation, should we then continue the practise in this day of so much knowledge? why not focus on rposition the scheme to biuld skilled man power, the lack, of which our country is suffering, rather than agitating for more lives to be lost?
You sure dissapoint the people and I pray you be more careful with your utterances.

I must say that i'm terribly disappointed by such unguided remarks/utterances from someone who claims and calls himself the Minister of Youth Development. How can a person who holds such a sensitive position urge corps members "to demonstrate patriotism and be ready to serve in ANY state of the country despite the prevailing security challenge the country is faced with". If i may ask, does patriotism mean ignorance or must one consciously place his/her life in unnecessitated jeopardy in the name of patriotism, because simply put, the Minister is urging the poor youths of this country to go and get themselves killed by callous individuals (that is after spending so many hard years in ill-equipped schools trying to get añ educational qualification), just so that some good for nothing laws of the NYSC may be followed.
It's really unfortunate that we have with us presently a crop of leaders who are too corrupt and too selfish to take logical and decisive positions that can this already rotting country forward.
Shame on you Mr Minister of Youths!
