Agunloye: Group Berates Akande Over Mole Comment

A socio-political group, Vanguard for Good Governance (VGG), has described as “the groaning of a frustrated politician,” the submission of the Chairman of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Chief Bisi Akande, that Dr Olu Agunloye was a mole in the party.

In a statement issued in Akure on Friday, VGG, while saluting the courage of Dr Agunloye for retracing his steps before it was too late, said the vituperations of Chief Akande has exposed his frustration and that of the ACN following their “inability to stop Agunloye.”

“Dr Agunloye has really acted the omoluabi that he is, by going back to where he truly belongs. It was obvious he couldn’t have moved far with the characters he was hobnobbing with in ACN. That is why we are saluting his courage for going back to the Labour Party even in the face of serious intimidation,” the group said.

The statement said: “Chief Akande should stop laying blames where there are none. Instead of him chasing shadows, he should look inwards and see to it that his party sheds its undemocratic toga.

“An undemocratic party should not expect to make any meaningful impact in a democratic setting like ours, any serious politician would have taken the same step Agunloye took after he was deceived by the party leadership, and the governorship ticket that was almost sure for him was given to a no better candidate for no serious reason.

“Calling a man of Agunloye’s stature a mole is, to say the least, very unfair and unfortunate, especially coming from a man like Chief Akande.”

Advising Agunloye to remain focused, the group said the hallmark of a genuine politician is to stand by whatever he says and make good a promise made. This is one quality Agunloye has demonstrated as a true omoluabi,” the group stated.

Geriatric hallucination is catching on Akande & ACN liability godfather... We can't take him too seriously. Their(ACN) deception of some Ondo state indigienes(Dr Olu Agunloye inclusive) has landed them no where except a footing or 2 in the sea of atlantic coast of Ondo state to be drown come Oct 20. Dr Agunloye was noble to be back in LP he jointly built with gov Mimiko & other well meaning Ondo state indigienes. Welcome back home sir...

What a press and what a politics, now that Agunloye no longer belong to enemy camp which is ACN, The gentleman is now seen and refered to as Omoluabi by Tribune papers, while he was with ACN, he remained a rebel I guess? hmn, Yorubas are watching, time and events will tell.

VGG (Very Greedy Group), your Agunloye is an unprincipled politician, a political prostitute. You should tell him to be a good sportsman and be ready to be a good loser. What he has just reciprocated in the ACN was what he did in PDP before he packed up his loads and left to come and join the ACN. Is this not the man who said during the warm-up to and campaigns for the primaries that they (all the aspirants) have agreed among themselves that they will support whoever emerges as the party's candidate, believing then that the selection pendulum will swing in his favour only now to turn around and start belching out rubbish when he failed to clinch the position. For the VGG or whatever you call yourselves to now say that your man have focus is saying the opposite and begging the issue. There are still about two or three others of his ilk onboard the ACN ship, watching the tide and ready to jump off the ship in case there is any mishap. They know themselves and better it is for them to leave now and not until when which God forbids any disaster happened, because then they would have shown that they are political weather vanes.
