Explosion Rocks Police Post In Jos
The entire Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State was thrown into confusion in the early hours of Friday, when an Improvised Explosive Device exploded at a police post injuring one person and shattering parts of the police post and some residential buildings within the vicinity.
Saturday Tribune learnt that the explosive devices were planted by some unknown persons and detonated at about 12:45 a.m, when most of the people in the area had gone to bed.
It was learnt that the noise from the explosion caused an uproar in Rikkos, a part of the local government, and forced people out of their beds.
According to a statement issued and signed by the Media Officer of the Special Task Force in-charge of the security of the state, Captain Salisu Mustapha, the Improvised Explosive Device exploded between a police outpost and some residences In Layin Walin Rikkos of Jos North Local Government Area at about 12:05 a.m.
The statement depicted that the police post, three other houses and a vehicle were affected by the blast, adding that one person was injured and had been taken to the hospital for treatment.
