WEST Brom  manager, Steve Clarke, has  defended the action of Nigerian striker, Osaze Odemwingie, over his   ungentlemanly behaviour in last weekend's 0-3 loss to Fulham in a week four English Premier League game at Craven Cottage, which earned Odemwingie a red card. Odemwingie kicked Sascha Riether violently after the latter dispossessed him of the ball.

"We’re all human,” he said. “Everybody has emotions. He (Odemwingie) felt he should have had a had a free kick and the red mist came down. We had started slowly.

"His exit affected the team, it could disorganise a team when you lose a player like that in a game. We did our best but football is like that," Clarke said

Earlier in the week, Odemwingie has felt sorry for his action.

" I lost my temper and it was unlike me, I am sorry for that because as a professional, I should be able to maintain my cool. It is not something I want to remember any more. I am not happy too about it. I have learned a lesson and I will make sure it doesn't happen again," said the former Lokomotiv Moscow player, who bagged a red card in the first half of the game.
