SECRETARY of Ibadan Golf Club, IGC, Iyiola Olayinka Ogunjobi has called on  corporate bodies and companies in the country to get more involved in the sponsorship of the game in Nigeria.

In a chat with Sunday Tribunesports, the two- time secretary who is fondly referred to as Baba Amofin of Ibadan Golf Club, said that for the game of golf to reach the desired height in the country, corporate bodies and multi-national companies should take it as their social responsibility to sponsor sports in their host community.

"The sponsorship of sports especially golf can not be left to individuals or government. Corporate bodies and multi national companies should endeavour to take part in this so that their host community will see them as responsible companies.

"This can even reduce their tax and make them friendly with their host communities," he said.
