Indications have emerged that President Goodluck Jonathan will, this week, meet with all political party leaders in order to discuss issues of national importance.

A source within the presidency told Sunday Tribune that some of the issues to be discussed would include the Sovereign Wealth Fund, deregulation and security challenges. It was also gathered that the president would use the forum to douse tensions making the rounds that he was politicising issues of the Sovereign Wealth Fund, deregulation, among many others.

It would be recalled that the Sovereign Wealth Fund as proposed by the President Jonathan-led administration has generated much tension in many quarters with allegations and counter-allegations that there was no basis for it.

It would also be recalled that both the planned removal of oil subsidy by the Federal Government and the security challenges in the country have not stopped to garner discontent in many quarters. Many have contended that the removal of the oil subsidy would only aggravate the plight of the masses.
